GROW ACADEMY GIRLS ORGANIZE 'GIVING BACK DAYS' TO GIVE A DAY OF WELL-BEING, HAPPINESS AND SOCIAL GROWTH TO THE MOST VULNERABLE GROUPS AND FIND SUSTAINABLE SOLUTIONS TO LOCAL ORGANIZATIONS
Who we are
Giving Back is a sustainable poverty reduction ecosystem. Disadvantaged youngsters are given access to college education and taught how to mentor, support the next generation. Building on its 95% alumni reinvestment success rate of its sports for social leadership progams, Giving Back created the idea of the Grow Academy, an all 18-25 years old female social entrepreneurship program where mentees become problem solvers, social businesswomen, alumni mentors, academic content creators and investors.
The Giving Back Days
The Giving Back Days are days of well-being, happiness and social growth for the most vulnerable groups combining sports, cultural, and live or online social leadership training sessions. Giving Back Days program is an open invitation to donors, public and private sectors, NGOs to partner and to participate in community services. The Giving Back Days take place in France, the USA, Senegal, Mali and Burkina Faso.
Two decades ago, my sister passed away at 22 years old. She left behind what became the most valuable heritage of all : a written project based on how the chain of giving can be completed by having beneficiaries reinvest into vulnerable communities. I used that well-designed treasure to create a global organization named Giving Back, using my passion for basketball, my 0$ budget and my addiction to problem solving. It allowed me to build a global network and innovative activities that empowered more than 200 student-athletes with access to education and social leadership training.
The program generated more than 10M$ of educational scholarships, and hundreds of employment opportunities. Program's beneficiaries embody the organization’s motto “Never forget where you come from …” now give back by leading the organization’s social venture. They transform the lives of underprivileged young kids and collaborate with other social and humanitarian organizations.
Giving Back scales this sustainable ecosystem with the grow Academy. Based in Senegal, the academy is targeting 18 to 25 years old young women. This poverty-solving program is designed to unleash the potential of Africa’s most reliable social leaders and game changers : women.
The sustainable vision relies in these social leaders becoming mentors and investors of the next generation of grow and Giving Back leaders academicians so that we can keep alive the chain of growth my sister triggered 20 years ago as her last gift for humanity.
