A training and employment-integration model for digitally excluded young women, powered by local-language e-learning technology

Grow Academy offers a holistic and innovative approach to the digital inclusion of young women aged 15 to 25 who are out of school or enrolled in technical and vocational training. At the core of its solution is a local-language edtech e-learning application. Grow Academy aims to train 1 million young women across Sub-Saharan Africa by 2030.

The hybrid training program, combined with a strong commitment to local languages, enables learners to build solid digital marketing skills and apply them directly in their everyday and professional environments.

Grow Academy operates within partner public and private training centers, where learners join the program alongside their existing schedules. Participants benefit from personalized support, high-quality training, and concrete pathways to employment and economic integration.

The model is structured around four key stages: Mobilization, Training, Formalization, and Employment Integration.

01

Mobilization

The first stage of the Grow Academy approach focuses on mobilizing out-of-school young women and raising awareness of the opportunities offered by professional training in digital marketing.

Inspiring events such as conferences and talks are organized, during which women entrepreneurs and Grow Academy learners share their personal journeys and highlight the social mobility and transformation opportunities created by the program.

These events are open to a broad audience and aim to build a positive momentum around training, skills development, and professional integration.

02

Training

The second key stage of the Grow Academy program is training. The approach combines interactive online courses with in-person sessions, delivering a comprehensive and engaging learning experience.

Grow Academy Africa’s e-learning platform offers rich, accessible content in local languages, enabling learners to fully understand digital marketing concepts and apply them effectively within their cultural and professional contexts.

Courses are designed by digital marketing experts and are regularly updated to reflect the latest industry trends and best practices.

03

Formalization

The third stage of the program focuses on supporting young women in formalizing their skills and economic activities. Each learner receives personalized guidance to set up an individual enterprise and open a bank account.

Additional training in communication and basic business management is provided to help participants position themselves effectively in the market and seize emerging professional opportunities

04

Employment

The final stage of the Grow Academy program focuses on professional integration and employment. Learners are offered work-study internship opportunities within local micro-enterprises, as well as access to a B2B marketplace.

This marketplace enables public and private institutions to outsource communication and digital tasks to Grow Academy graduates, providing them with income-generating opportunities and allowing them to apply their newly acquired skills in real-world professional settings.
